Tom Bernard Morris

2nd Lieutenant, Royal Welsh Fusiliers/Royal Flying Corps

Tom Bernard Morris was a student at Alley’s until 1909 and moved to Bristol after leaving school. He joined the war effort as part of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and saw service on the Western Front. After seeing action with the Fusiliers in France and Flanders, Tom accepted a transfer to the Royal Flying Corps where he served as a 2nd Lieutenant. Shortly after transferring to the RFC, he was invalided home and was reattached his old regiment while he recovered from injuries. By July 1917, he had returned to the Western Front and was serving with the Fusiliers in Flanders shortly before the launch of the Third Battle of Ypres. It was during this time that Tom was killed in action on July 23rd 1917. He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.
